This is one of my personal favourite photos from my three month volunteer trip to East Africa back in 2009. It was taken during our first day after we landed in Nairobi, Kenya. We had a couchsurf organised for a couple of nights there with a local lady, who lived about an hours drive outside of Nairobi.
This photo was taken during a Christian apolistic mass in which we were treated as guests for the whole four hours! All of these kids had never seen a white man or Mzungu before so it was a pretty big deal for them. In fact, the village in which we were staying was so remote that most of the inhabitants had never laid eyes on a white man in the flesh before. It took me a while to figure out why everyone was coming up to us and touching our skin!
