The longboat is one of Thailand’s most photographed images. I took this photo during a day trip to Koh Phi Phi island which is made famous by the film “the beach” starring Leanardo DiCaprio.
While we didn’t actually get to visit the beach we still were able to see the turquoise green waters that engulfed the magical lagoon from our boat. It looked class and its a real pity that our guided tour didn’t feature a proper stop there.
None the less, on a nearby beach while feeding some island monkeys I was able to snap this photo of our boat which carried us from the main boat to the shores of the smaller islands.

Great photo here! It reminds of my time down in the Southern sections of Thailand when I was island hopping and beach bumming around many years ago.
Thanks Sam. Yeah I loved Thailand so much. When you end up spending a total of over two weeks combined in Bangkok itself you know its a country you’ll like 🙂 The islands were just fantastic as you said. Great experiences and I shall return there at some stage next year when I hit there again.
When are you back to S.Korea teaching?
