August 2016 Income/Expense Report
Hey guys! You’re here because you’ve signed up to receive our monthly income & expenses reports.
The primary goal of these income reports is to give you an idea of how we manage our online endeavours, and to give you an indication of how much it costs to live and travel in the countries that we do. We figured they will also be a great motivator for us to keep striving towards bigger numbers in terms of income at the end of every month.
If you’re new to the blog, you’ll see that our main source of income is our content creation agency that we built-up from scratch back in late 2012. You can read more about how we make money online here.
Anyway, let’s get down to business…
The report below is a breakdown of our total income for the month of August 2016 as well as a rundown of our expenses and it also states the profit or loss figure after all is said and done.
If you’d like to see our past Income reports then head on over here to check them out!

Hey guys,
I honestly can’t believe it’s been a month since I typed up the last income report – I really can’t. Time is going too quick. We’ve got another 4 weeks left here in Vegas, before we fly back to Europe.
Anyway, you’re here for the income/expense details, so let’s get right to it…..
This income report for August will cover the income we generated and the expenses we incurred while living here in Vegas.
INCOME
We generated a total of €8,750 in income for the month.
A good €1,000+ increase over last months income – and slightly short of the 10k zone.
Interestingly, it was this time last year that we hit our first 10k month while travelling in India – which set things up for a 5 month streak that we never could have imagined.
EXPENSES
We spent €8,902.84 last month.
“Project X” was again a major player in the expenses this month – more about that below.
Here’s a few notes about some of the expenses throughout the month:
- Entertainment: €460 – UFC Tickets: McGregor Vs Diaz – What an unbelievable fight that was.
- Eating Out: €267.52 – We had friends from back home out for a week, so there was a fair bit of dining out.
- Car Rental: €160
- Flights: €152 – Dublin to Budapest for Florence in October
- Stock Images: €35
Negative Month
We had a loss of –€152.84 at the end of the month.
Project X
As we said last month, we’re creating our own agency with a focus on helping businesses getting more leads.
It’s something that we’ve wanted to do for a long time, so we started investing into it last summer and then stopped because we didn’t have enough time to focus on it properly.
Since we came to Vegas, we’ve had loads of time to work, learn new skills and take the next step – so that’s what we’ve been doing.
Project X translates to our marketing agency and we’re going to be launching www.NextStopMarketing.com in the coming months.
We had many names initially to consider, but there were potential copyright problems with most of them, so we ended up keeping things aligned with the NextStop brand that we’ve built up.
So what did we spend over €2,000+ on this month you may be wondering?
Websites!
Yes, as part of our SEO strategy to help rank local businesses, we’re buying loads of websites to add to our arsenal.
For those of you who know about SEO, you’ll understand the reasons.
This month (September) will see us spend another €1,500+ on Project X and that will more or less be the end of the investing to kick things off….for a while anyway!
There will probably be an in-depth post about Project X at some stage on the blog when(if) things get moving with it.
Forecast
A nice steady breeze coming in from the content side of things without any thunderstorms or downpours.
