December 2015 Income/Expense Report
Hey guys! You’re here because you’ve signed up to receive our monthly income & expenses reports.
The primary goal of these income reports is to give you an idea of how we manage our online endeavours, and to give you an indication of how much it costs to live and travel in the countries that we do. We figured they will also be a great motivator for us to keep striving towards bigger numbers in terms of income at the end of every month.
If you’re new to the blog, you’ll see that our main source of income is our content creation agency that we built-up from scratch back in late 2012. You can read more about how we make money online here.
Anyway, let’s get down to business…
The report below is a breakdown of our total income for the month of December 2015 as well as a rundown of our expenses and it also states the profit or loss figure after all is said and done.

Comments:
INCOME
€25,567 in total income for this month.
We finished off the year in style with a record breaking month for us.
Going from approx €15,000 in revenue in November to €25,000+ in December was mainly due to companies eager to get rid of their yearly budgets.
Literally everything was thrown at us in terms of content and thankfully we had the systems in place to easily take care of everything…with the minimal amount of stress.
To put things in context for those of you who are wondering how many articles were written by our writers and processed on our end; it worked out at just over 1,100 individual pieces of content.
These were in form of blog posts, articles, web copy pages, about us pages and social media snippets.
Our total revenue for 2015 was €127,918.45
EXPENSES
We spent €13,423.59 this month.
Even though December was a quiet month travel wise, we still spent a fair bit.
As per usual, our writers took the majority with €6,120.
Here’s a few notes about some of the other expenses we incurred throughout the month:
- 2000 Ford Focus (€900)
- Tours (€320) – 2 week tour pre-paid for Turkey in February.
- Mefoto Roadtrip Tripod (€321)
- Ipad Mini 2 (€344) Christmas present for my mum
- Merrell trainers (€135)
We had to get another car sorted so that whenever we come back home we’ve our own set of wheels.
Profitable Month
€12,143.41 was added to our bank account in December after all the expenses were looked after.
Throughout 2015 we spent a combined total of €84,953.77
Overview
Starting out in January of 2015, we had one goal in mind with our business and that was simply:
- Have a 5 figure month in revenue.
We never imagined that we’d hit the figures we did from August through to the end of the year.
NextStopWhoKnows in 2016
We’re looking forward to 2016 big time and have a ton of new countries planned to visit this year.
We’re starting off in Bucharest, Romania at the end of January and we plan to tick off a decent chunk of countries that we’ve not set foot in before.
We’re also planning to base ourselves in Budapest for a few months during the summer months and also take in the European championships in France to support the boys in June.
Business wise, we’d love to have another year like we did last year….we’d be delighted with that. If we don’t, then it’s not a big deal.
