Hey guys! You’re here because you’ve signed up to receive our monthly income & expenses reports.
The primary goal of these income reports is to give you an idea of how we manage our online endeavours, and to give you an indication of how much it costs to live and travel in the countries that we do. We figured they will also be a great motivator for us to keep striving towards bigger numbers in terms of income at the end of every month.
If you’re new to the blog, you’ll quickly see that our main source of income is our content production business that we created from scratch back in late 2012, you can read more about how we make money online here.
Anyway, let’s get down to business…
The report below is a breakdown of our total income for the month of September 2015 as well as a rundown of our expenses and it also states the profit or loss figure after all is said and done.
If you’d like to see our past Income reports then head on over here to check them out!

Comments:
INCOME
€13,501.35 in total income for this month.
This is our best month to date and our eight straight month on the trot for increasing our monthly income.
We’re still travelling and working our way around India and we’ve got a nice little routine in place so help make things a little easier.
One big adjustment we’ve had to make this month is to let one of our longest running clients go!
We’ve been supplying them with content for over two years and they’re worth just over €2,000 to us each month.
However, this client’s work comes with a hefty time investment and we found ourselves spending way too much time collaborating over and back with both them and the writing team each month.
We decided that we’d prefer the extra free time to find a less time consuming client than to spend copious amounts of time managing this client.
It wasn’t an easy decision to make but we value our time a lot more over what we were getting from them each month.
Anyways……….
**We’re looking for more writers**
If you’re interested in getting paid to write for us (not on our blog – NextStopWhoKnows), then please hit reply to this email and we can take it from there. The work is straight forward and if we think you’d be a good match for what we’re looking for then it’s solid, regular work going forwards.
EXPENSES
Our writing team makes up the biggest single expense for us each month. This figure was €5,371.5 in September.
* ATM fees: We’ve started to track our ATM fees.
We’ve been doing a lot of flying around India as the flights are pretty cheap and it prevents us having to slog it out in 20+ hour trains and/or buses all the time. We’ve taking a few trains and buses along the way, but the buses are a death trap. No, really!!!
In the upcoming months we’re also going to have a few big expenses coming our way. One of them will be a car in Italy. We plan on using my dads home-place as a base in the coming year or two. We’ll be hopefully getting that sorted by the end of the year.
* Mobile Internet: We spend a lot on mobile internet this month because without it, we’d end up losing money. Luckily, the mobile internet in India is pretty decent so we’ve stock up on a few 10GB data packages in the month to make sure we’re good to work anywhere.
Profitable Month
We’ve added another €5,284.18 to our net worth after all our expenses had been paid up.
As we’ve said before, our goal is to make a profit of at least €1,000 each month. This helps to keep us on our toes and maintain focus on building up our business.
We’re also on target to having a six figure year with our online business – which would be a massive milestone for us. If it happens then super, if not, then we’ll just have to try again in 2016.

We wouldn’t be able to do these reports without the very cool and easy to use YNAB software. Using YNAB and incorporating it into our everyday life has literally changed the way we budget, spend and save our money. For the full lowdown on just how great it is, you can read our full review here.
